Famous Malayalam actor Meghanathan passed away at the age of 60 due to complications from a lung-related disease. The actor was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode, where he breathed his last. The actor’s last rites are scheduled to be held on Thursday at his residence in Shoranur. Meghnathan dies at the age of 60

Meghanathan, a leading personality of the Malayalam film industry, was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as the third child of iconic actor Balan K Nair and Saradha Nair. He is survived by his wife Susmita and daughter Parvati.

The actor began his acting career in 1983 with the Malayalam film Astram, marking the beginning of his career spanning over three decades. Meghanathan, who has more than 50 films to his credit, has carved a niche for himself by playing diverse roles, mainly as an antagonist, like his great father.

Some of his most memorable performances include roles in Panchagni, Chamayam, Rajdhani, Bhoomgeetham, Chenkol, Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji, Prayikkara Pappan, Udayanapalakam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu and Vasavatam.
