The stars not only exercised their franchise but also encouraged others to fulfill their democratic duties. Actress Shraddha Kapoor arrives at a polling booth in Mumbai with her brother Siddhant Kapoor and aunt Padmini Kolhapure. Dressed in a floral print suit, Shraddha posed for a picture with her family while proudly showing off her inked finger. Actor Arjun Kapoor also cast his vote and while speaking to the media urged the citizens, “Request everyone to come and vote(Please request everyone to come and vote). His sister, Anshula Kapoor was also seen voting at the same booth. Writer and actress Twinkle Khanna joins the list of Bollywood celebrities who have stepped forward to participate in the democratic process. According to the Election Commission of India, 32.18 percent voting was recorded till 1 pm in the single-phase assembly elections in Maharashtra. Among all the districts in Maharashtra, Mumbai City district recorded the lowest turnout of 27.73 per cent till 1 pm, while Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district recorded the highest of 50.89 per cent. From film personalities to the political fraternity, many individuals have urged citizens to exercise their franchise and participate in the democratic celebration by casting their votes. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
